Seems there might be some confusion as to the status of rooms available. So this is a quick post for anyone still not booked and registered. First of all, I have warned everyone here and there are countless reminders for those booking to BOOK EARLY. This wasn’t some lame sales tactic to get you to sign up earlier… the hotel rooms were and ARE selling out fast. As you can tell, even a large hotel as this one, the Sheraton near George Bush Intl. (north Houston) has only so many rooms available. As of now, we have managed to secure only around 25 additional rooms which are now (at the time of writing) showing as available – the hotel staff have ensured that as many of us will be together, some of those who have booked bi level suites (there are only 4) will be on floors away from the spanking group but all those who have booked other suites and rooms will be placed together. So, all us spankos are grouped as close to each other as possible and I can tell you that we have floors 5, 6 and 8 fully booked (floor 7 is mainly for conference rooms etc. so we didn’t want to use that floor) and it appears we have half (one side of floors 3 and 4… I appreciate that some people panicked and over the weekend the hotel booking system defaulted to “FULLY BOOKED” as our allocation was again booked out. However, after calling the hotel today and in an extensive meeting the hotel has opened all remaining rooms… so with less than a week remaining for ONLINE bookings (cut off is 15th and I really suggest you do NOT leave it until then) – we have also agreed with the Doubletree to stand in as an “overfill”hotel opposite the main  event hotel. It’s not ideal and there are no concessions, just get whatever rate you can but they are aware that they may get additional bookings so we will update via the site (and here) but if you want to stay then that is how it will happen.
